The year they were born President Trump was inaugurated for the first time, fidget spinners became a thing, the #MeToo movement gained traction, and we were all busy listening to Justin Bieber’s Despacito.
Since then, it’s been an eventful nine years; a new pope, 5 Prime Ministers, a climate change emergency, COVID-19.
But what do a group of local nine-year-olds remember and what was important to them?
Nine years old is halfway to becoming an adult. It’s an opportune age to remember the past, imagine the future, and take stock of what’s happening right now.
NINE is an intergenerational collaboration between Bootworks Theatre Co. and a local group of nine-year-old children. The project aims to amplify the voices of young people and share their thoughts on the world that they live in.
